Hammonasset Beach State Park is Connecticut's largest shoreline park that offers over 2 miles of beach to enjoy swimming, strolling along the boardwalk, or just relaxing in the sun and surf. Located in Madison, there are a number of activities available including walking trails, fishing, bicycling, and a designated area for camping (over 550 spots). There is also an on-site nature center that offers a variety of interpretive programs. Facilitites at the beach include bathrooms, a boardwalk, Car Top Boat Launch, concessions, picnic shelters, picnic tables, and showers.
